Preparing for Disasters: Mutual Aid, Community Response, and Recovery

Disaster preparedness goes beyond personal safety plans and emergency supplies. It’s about sharing skills and resources for collective care. It’s about being in a position to step up and support neighbors and those in our communities disproportionately impacted by extreme weather and disaster. It’s about having a vision for the days, weeks, and months after a crisis, and working together to ensure no one is left behind or left out of rebuilding and recovery. Hear from Leila Darwish and Charles Williams as they discuss ways to prepare for this disaster season, with a focus on mutual aid, community response and recovery.
